Vision

Come together. Unite through faith. Help those in need.

Mission

Our mission is to provide new and gently used household essentials, along with food program assistance, to participants of Contra Costa County Social Service Programs—improving their living conditions and overall quality of life.

Our Story

The Contra Costa Interfaith Coalition (CCIC) began in November 1992 when three neighborhood churches—St. Francis of Assisi, Evangelical Free Church, and St. John Vianney—looked beyond their own congregations to serve the broader community.

Together, their members founded CCIC with a shared goal: to support those in need throughout Contra Costa County, starting by providing meals to residents at the county homeless shelter.

Since then, CCIC has grown to include 20 church communities and two additional organizations, all united in their mission to serve with compassion.

Pictured here is one of our founding members, Sua Phalen, with her truck loaded with donations—an enduring symbol of the spirit that drives our work.
